Months 1–3
Intensive Technical Training in Clothing Construction
Learn industry-standard clothing manufacturing techniques and operations, developing the skills to construct a broad variety of garments to a very high-quality standard. Master industrial and domestic sewing machines.
Gain practical experience in making different styles of trousers, T-shirts, shirts, dresses, skirts and jackets, while building a strong foundation in professional garment construction.
Month 4
Ethical Brand Development & Entrepreneurship
Transform your technical skills into a business opportunity by learning how to develop, launch and manage your own clothing brand.

This 4 month Clothing Construction & Ethical Brand Development short course starts in Feb 2027 with first 3 months focusing on Clothing construction. The focus shifts in month 4 towards Ethical Brand Development, ending in May 2027.

After successfully completing the Clothing Manufacturing and ethical brand development short course you will receive a SETA NQF level 7 certificate. Which is recognised by government and commerce as a matric level trade certificate.

Graduates of the Clothing Construction & Ethical Brand Development course can pursue opportunities as garment makers, sewing machine operators, seamstresses, tailors, alterations specialists, production assistants, sample makers, or fashion production assistants. The course also provides a strong foundation for self-employment, allowing graduates to start their own clothing, custom-made, alterations, upcycling or ethical fashion businesses and develop their own clothing brand.
